About my ImagesEquipmentMy images are taken using Nikon digital SLR's and a Wista field camera. Over the years I have used Nikon film SLR's as well as large format cameras made by Toyo, Omega, and Burke & James (a classic), with Nikkor and Rodenstock lenses. Most all of my new work is digital. Print InformationPrints are made using a Canon 6350 fine art printer using archival ink along with the highest archival quality papers and mounts. Mounting boards are 100% cotton rag archival museum board.
Purchase & Licensing Info
In addition to those shown in my on-line albums, I have tens of thousands of additional images of plants, deserts, landforms, cacti, and various other subjects. To get more information on purchasing prints, licensing images, or to query about my other images, please see the Contact Me page. Print Dimensions
Image SharpnessSharpness is an important factor in the perceived quality of an image when a print is viewed at a "normal" viewing distance. But, of course, sharpness is not everything! The reduced size of images shown in these on-line albums sometimes gives the impression that the prints are choppy or fuzzy. I impose extraordinarily high technical standards on my work, and I will not provide prints that are enlarged beyond what is supported by normal viewing. |

For maximum archival lifetime, images displayed in a bright light
environment should use a UV blocking museum quality glass.
Portfolios should be kept in the supplied portfolio case to extend their
archival lifetime into hundreds of years. In general
it is important to minimize a print's exposure to bright light and
sunlight. Henry Willhelm, the renowned expert in this field, discusses
these issues at length on his company's website; see

Print dimensions are listed by the approximate maximum width or height of the
image. The size is approximate because different subjects vary slightly by size
depending on their shape. For example, prints in the 11-12" size would maximum
dimension of 11 to 12 inches, depending on the particular image. The print
is then archivally mounted on a larger matte board of appropriate size.
